This tutorial is for beginners. Before starting your website, you are going to need the domain name for your website. For example, University of California, Los Angeles has the website and its domain name is ucsd.edu. It's pretty simple, right? :) You have to usually pay for your domain name unless you want to get a free blog from blogger or wordpress. The problem is that Free websites don't allow ad placement, and beside you want your visitors to see a professional website. So it is important to purchase your domain and the most commonly used extensions are .com/.org/.edu/
Depending on your business, you may want to choose one of the extensions.
Once the you have the domain, you can purchase a web hosting service unless you want to do this on your own. I am not technically savvy so I rather just pay the company like godaddy.com so they can host my website on their server. Godaddy actually has everything you need. You can register your domain, pay for hosting and they have web builder that you can access.
